Linda Carla of Alba Doll

Linda Carla of Alba Doll  with black mohair wig, original flirty eyes. Closed mouth and rosy cheeks. This doll came in my hands in disassembled. I have changed the tires. The dress is surely the original. It measures about 48cm.

It has a mark on the nape, a crown with three peaks. Brand attributed to Alba.

The Alba Brand

Cellulose doll factory and celluloid babies by Carlos Hernández de Alba y Gómez.

To clarify, Carlos Hernández de Alba y Gómez produced polystyrene dolls starting in the 1950s, some marked on the nape with a crown within a rhombus. The first models wore natural hair wigs that were replaced by synthetic hair wigs during the 1960s.

The singular models of the company are the Linda dolls, registered in 1945 as Carla.

Linda Carla of Alba Doll and Linda Carlota were sold in 1954 at Casa Jorba and the Chiquito store.

To sum up, The Hawaiian Linda differs from the previous ones in the color of her skin: she is mulatto and wears a raffia skirt, a flower necklace and floral fabric decorations on her ankles and arms, a black hair wig with bangs. It was sold in 1954 at Casa Jorba. Meanwhile, Hawaiian clothing was very popular at the time and almost every manufacturer has its own model.

Even though we are able to confirm it, the continuity of Alba’s models is found in the IC-SA (Ibérica Comercial Sociedad Anónima) brand, even in the shape and models of the labels, perhaps when Alba ceased the business or transferred or sold all its models, Linda Carla of Alba Doll
