Saint Stanislaus Kostka

To begin with. St. Stanislaus Kostka or Stanisław Kostka (Rostkowo, Poland, October 28, 1550 – Rome, August 14, 1568) was a Polish Jesuit novice. With Saints Lluís Gonzaga and Joan Berchmans he is the patron saint of young students.

Firstly, He was born in Poland to a wealthy noble family. He was sent to Vienna with his older brother to study at the Jesuit College. Legend has it that while he was ill and unable to go to church to receive the Eucharist, he received it from the hands of St. Barbara and two angels: he then made the decision to lead a religious life. In Vienna he decided to join the Jesuit order, but found strong opposition from his family. Saint Stanislaus Kostka

Subsequently, He secretly left Vienna on his way to Rome. He made his first religious vows as a novice, before General Sant Francesc de Borja. He entered the Collegio Romano to study philosophy and theology and became a priest, but fell seriously ill and died on the night of August 14, 1568.

Its liturgical feast is November 13th.
