The figure is made in plaster and painted with delicate pastel and golden colors. It has glass eyes.

Infant Jesus of Prague
The Infant Jesus (Czech: Pražské Jezulátko) is a wax image of Jesus in his childhood.
It is located in the Church of St. Mary of Victory and St. Anthony of Padua in the city of Prague (capital of the Czech Republic).
Many pious legends hold that the image of the Holy Infant of Prague once belonged to St. Teresa of Jesus and is considered a miraculous image, especially among pregnant women. The image was given to the Carmelite friars in 1628 by Princess Polixena of Lobkowicz.
Likewise, The Feast of the Infant Jesus is currently celebrated on the first Sunday in June, and its image is venerated in a rich golden altarpiece in the Church of Our Lady of Victory and St. Anthony of Padua near Prague Cathedral.

To clarify, The Child Jesus is the name by which the devotion of the Catholic faithful to the childhood of Jesus Christ is recognized. From his birth to the age of 12, when he met the doctors in the Temple.
Already around the year 1200, Saint Francis of Assisi decided to remember Christmas. Great solemnity by making a manger as similar as possible to that of Bethlehem and thus celebrating the midnight mass among shepherds, sheep, oxen and donkeys, and making a beautiful sermon himself. Christmas Eve remembering the great goodness of the Son of God in wanting to become a man in Bethlehem to save our soul.
Later, Saint Anthony of Padua was such an enthusiastic devotee of the Child Jesus that according to the images that are preserved of him, he deserved to have the Divine Child appear to him. Baby Jesus Dimosa
In modern times, the saints who most contributed to spreading the devotion to the Child of Bethlehem were Santa Teresa and San Juan de la Cruz.
